The bridge of Loña, probably erected in the 12th century, is located in a Ourensian neighbourhood called A Lonia, by the Loña river. In 1985, a project was drafted due to its state of disrepair, without parapets and scarcely paved.
It has a slightly pointed arch forming a low ridge with steep ramps in both sides, with a magnificent set of arch stones and a span of 13 m. Due to its location, based on a rock rising from the ground in the surrounding area, the vault was in good state of conservation, although most of the high wing walls were collapsed. Owing to this damage, we projected the dismantling of the bridge and the reassembly, reinforcing its stability against forces of fill.
